Jay  Mueller was born in the southwest suburbs of Chicago on August 12th 1973. His interests in art has lead him to explore many different mediums and methods of execution throughout his life from fiberglass to photography, Jay has tried almost everything.

 Half way threw public high school Jay transferred to The Chicago Academy for the Arts were he majored in the visual arts program. He graduated in 1992. Later the next year Jay started at Columbus College of Art and Design were he graduated in 1998 with a BFA in Photo / Fine Arts. Jay has shown his work in group and solo shows all over the U.S. including: Chicago, San Francisco, and Indianapolis were he got bets in show at the Indianapolis Erotic Art Festival in 1997. He was also awarded 2nd place for Alternative Process in Columbus Alive's 6th annual photo contest in 2004. Jay has worked for and apprenticed under Dan Scheider, of the Chicago based band The Insane War Tomatoes, in the early 1990's. Under Dan's teaching Jay made props and set for the band and other clients in the US and Canada. A bit after graduating from  Columbus Collage of Art and Design, Jay did volunteer work for a couple of years at the Columbus Youth Detention Center teaching art classes to both the male and female 12 - 18 year old inmates.

 Currently Jay is taking a break from making 3 directional, black and white photo based, hand colored, mixed medium erotic art- which he has been doing since 1998. He is now working on paintings and sculptures and is planning on experimenting with straight black and white photography along with color photography.
